The East of England Multi-Professional Deanery, within the
Workforce Directorate at NHS East of England is the regional centre
of excellence for the development, commissioning, and quality
management of education and training of all healthcare staff.
The Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education (PGMDE) team
reflect this through our vision of "First class education for
first class healthcare" .
We aim to inspire excellence in all our trainees, trainers and
other stakeholders by engaging and involving them at all stages in
the planning and delivery and quality management of education and
training to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of
safe clinical care. It encourages a multi-professional approach to
the delivery of training and patient care, and aims to provide
comprehensive support and encouragement to providers, trainers and
trainees.
There are around 4,000 medical and dental trainees in the region
serving a population of 5.6 million. This large geographic area
covers both rural and urban areas bordering London, and we
commission healthcare education and training from over 50
