About Shortlisting
Recruiting offices will shortlist your application form against
the nationally agreed person specification, using a scoring system.
Details of the selection scoring scheme should be made
available to you on request.
All correctly submitted applications will be
considered. Those which pass the long listing stage (which
considers eligibility to apply for that post, see Eligibility section) will go on to be
scored. The top scoring applicants will be invited to interview or
assessment. Typically, the deanery will invite more people to
interview than there are posts available, as this makes it more
likely that they will be able to make an offer that will be
accepted.
Due to the large volume of applicants,
deaneries will only contact you if you are being invited to
interview. If you have not heard by the interview date you can
assume you have not been shortlisted.
If you are not successful at the shortlisting
stage, you can request feedback from the deanery (see the
Feedback &
Complaints section for more information). If you
feel you have been unfairly scored, there is a complaints procedure
in each deanery (see Feedback &
Complaints section).
